Backstory: The red cardinals you always see are males, and the females are a neutral color. First of all, this means that when you see christmas cards with 2 red cardinals they are either gay, or just bros! Second of all, some cardinals have bilateral gynandromorphy, which is when they are literally half male, half female! Since this isn't the typical binary male or female, I like to think of them as nonbinary, and decided to make a nonbinary couple!
